Biography
Orbital are an English electronic duo from Kent, formed in 1989 by brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll and named after London's M25 orbital motorway. They broke through with the rave anthem 'Chime' and the albums 'Orbital 2' and 'In Sides', becoming one of the biggest British electronic acts of the 1990s and pioneers of improvised live dance music, crowned by a legendary Glastonbury set in 1994. After splits in 2004 and 2014 and reunions in 2009 and 2017, they remain active, most recently with 'Optical Delusion' (2023).
