Album Notes & Community Reviews
Leaning heavily into the aesthetics of vintage spy thriller soundtracks, the track pairs classic trip-hop breakbeats with a dramatic, blaring brass section. Beth Gibbons delivers a remarkably powerful, almost Shirley Bassey-esque vocal performance detailing a fiercely possessive, obsessive romantic attachment. It successfully broadened the group's sound beyond murky minimalism while retaining their signature sense of cinematic dread.
