All Along the Watchtower / Long Hot Summer Night

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Widely considered the definitive interpretation of Bob Dylan's apocalyptic folk-rock original. Hendrix spent weeks in the studio obsessively layering intricate electric guitar parts, utilizing heavy wah-wah pedal effects and backward tape delays to create a swirling, cinematic soundscape. Dylan himself was so profoundly impressed by the explosive cover that he permanently adopted Hendrix's arrangement for his own live performances.
