Lyrics for Song for Sandy
A lady came from London town Her voice like water from a snowmelt stream Shared her songs in drunken rooms Never once sang out of tune How wrestling stars ricochet, and carry on Caught in time forever more, just 31 She said, motherless children have a hard time When mother's gone But she left her baby girl alone And nothing could be done Nothing could be done When her love and child went Her heart hung heavy as a noose from a beam She said herself, the wine it was drunk I wonder if the dream it came back How wrestling stars ricochet, and carry on Caught in time forever more, just 31 She said, motherless children have a hard time When mother's gone But she left her baby girl alone And nothing could be done Nothing could be done How the raven's arrival did ruin the mood Of the lilacs blooming that pale spring day When she came to be the light through the rain Her melodies were all that remained That remained, that remained
