Lyrics for You Were An Optimist
When the judge said everything was done You didn't know where to turn You were seeing them all fail And your mind wanders back in time A thousand dreams to grow And you're an optimist It's a big nation now So many plot twists So you try and try to forget But the circuits have been etched The connections are fresh The contacts mesh Each night Rain tells of the call She called from a payphone Her voice on the tape didn't match his face I said the day is near So many plot twists So you try and try to forget But the circuits have been etched The connections are fresh The contacts mesh And you're an optimist You were an optimist You were an optimist You were an optimist
