Album Notes & Community Reviews

Highly polarizing upon its release, 'My War' shattered the rigid tempos of the hardcore punk scene by devoting its entire B-side to agonizingly slow, Black Sabbath-inspired sludge metal. Greg Ginn's abrasive, atonal guitar solos perfectly match Henry Rollins's intensely aggressive, misanthropic lyricism regarding paranoia and deep social alienation. The album is a heavy, dark, and monumental catalyst for the development of post-hardcore and grunge.
