Marking a sudden, radical departure from their signature acoustic neofolk sound, David Tibet's long-running collective embraces distorted, sludgy psychedelic rock. The album features incredibly dense, apocalyptic spoken-word poetry layered over heavily distorted guitars and thundering drums, occasionally bordering on doom metal. Guest contributions from Sasha Grey and Rickie Lee Jones add to the record's profoundly surreal, hallucinatory atmosphere.
