Current 93

Current 93 is the primary musical vehicle for English artist David Tibet, an ever-evolving project founded in 1982. Initially emerging from the industrial tape-loop scene, the group's sound morphed into a style Tibet termed "apocalyptic folk." Their work blends acoustic instrumentation with experimental textures, characterized by Tibet's sung-spoken poetic delivery. Lyrically, the project explores esoteric, mystical, and apocalyptic Christian themes, drawing on a vast array of literary and occult influences. With a fluid lineup of collaborators including *Steven Stapleton* of *Nurse With Wound* and *Michael Cashmore*, Current 93 has created a vast and influential discography, including landmark albums like 'Thunder Perfect Mind' and 'Black Ships Ate the Sky'.
