James Blackshaw

- Type: Classical Composer
- Country: United Kingdom
- Born: 1981 in London, England, United Kingdom
Biography
English guitarist and composer from London, based in Hastings, whose hypnotic twelve-string pieces extend the Takoma tradition of *John Fahey* into minimalism and drone. Albums such as 'The Cloud of Unknowing' (2007) on #Tompkins Square# and 'All Is Falling' (2010) established his reputation, and he has since written for piano and ensemble. His playing favours patience and resonance over display, letting harmonics accumulate until the guitar sounds like a chapel organ.
