Album Notes & Community Reviews

Scoring a massive hit right out of the gate with their cover of 'Hush', the 'Mark I' lineup of Deep Purple debuted with an incredibly potent, organ-heavy fusion of pop and rock. 'Shades of Deep Purple' is wonderfully melodic and fiercely passionate, wrapping remarkably heavy, distinctly raw hard rock in sweeping, progressive psychedelic ambition.
