Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Phantom Island' finds the band exploring a more laidback and orchestral sound, a counterpart to the preceding 'Flight b741' with which it was concurrently recorded. The album's songs were constructed from improvisational jams and then layered with orchestral arrangements from composer Chad Kelly, resulting in a unique fusion of free-form rock performance and formal composition. This approach yields a diverse sonic palette that incorporates '70s soft rock, blues, and Southern rock, creating what has been described as one of the group's more intimate and vulnerable records
