Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded while Morgan was still a prominent member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, this Blue Note session pairs his fiery trumpet with Jackie McLean's distinctively sharp alto sax. The quartet navigates a program consisting primarily of blues-oriented compositions written and arranged by Cal Massey.
