Album Notes & Community Reviews

The second and most commercially successful album from the original Mahavishnu Orchestra, 'Birds of Fire' continued the band's revolutionary blend of high-volume rock energy and complex jazz improvisation. The music is a stunning display of collective virtuosity, with intricate compositions, odd time signatures, and explosive solos from all members. It solidified the band's status as giants of the jazz-rock movement and remains a high-water mark of the genre.
