Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Halifax band's fourth album replaced Nick Holmes's death-metal grunt with a cleaner bark modelled on James Hetfield, across tracks such as 'Embers Fire', 'Shallow Seasons' and 'True Belief'. It was the last Paradise Lost album to feature drummer Matthew Archer, and it carried the band from the doom underground into the European metal mainstream.
