Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originally captured for Adrian Maben's iconic 1972 concert film, this release documents Pink Floyd performing without an audience amidst the ancient ruins of the Pompeii amphitheater. The recordings catch the band during a critical transitional phase, blending their sprawling, psychedelic space rock with the refined, structural grandiosity that would define their stadium-sized future. The ominous resonance of the ancient venue heavily informs the atmosphere of tracks like 'Echoes' and 'A Saucerful of Secrets'.
