Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded primarily at the historic Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, 'Brothers' found The Black Keys returning to a self-produced, rhythm-first approach that yielded a raw, bass-heavy, and soulful blues-rock sound. The album's creation followed a period of significant internal strife and personal turmoil, themes which are reflected in the gritty and emotionally direct songwriting. A critical and commercial breakthrough, the album won a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album and achieved multi-platinum status, establishing the duo as a major force in rock music.
