Due to ongoing conflict and instability in their native Mali, the legendary Tuareg guitar collective recorded this album in exile, split between the California desert and Morocco. The record beautifully melds their signature hypnotic desert blues with subtle indie-rock contributions from guests Kurt Vile and Mark Lanegan. It acts as a profound, yearning tribute to their lost homeland.
