Fleeing the earnestness of their 80s output, U2 completely reinvented themselves with the heavily produced, industrial-tinged alternative rock of 'Achtung Baby'. The album is incredibly melodic and energetic, blending their signature anthemic grandeur with a playful, highly atmospheric, and nocturnal urban aesthetic.
