Album Notes & Community Reviews
Abandoning the spiritual ambiance of 'October', U2 delivered a stark, deeply aggressive, and fiercely political post-punk record. 'War' is anchored by Larry Mullen Jr.'s militaristic drum patterns and The Edge's razor-sharp guitar harmonics, providing a tense backdrop for Bono's passionate protest lyrics regarding the Troubles in Northern Ireland. It is a highly conscious, angry, and undeniably anthemic rock masterpiece.
