Biography
Les Ambassadeurs Internationaux, stored here as Ambassadeur International, were a Malian big band from Bamako and one of the great West African dance orchestras of the 1970s. As the Motel de Bamako house band they drew in singer *Salif Keita* and guitarist *Kant茅 Manfila*, then, exiled in Abidjan, mixed Mande griot song with Afro-Latin, funk and jazz currents. Their album 'Mandjou' (1978) made them stars across West Africa before the classic line-up split in 1985.
