Biography
Arca is the experimental music project of Alejandra Ghersi Rodr铆guez, a Venezuelan producer, composer, and vocalist based in Barcelona. Known for a boundary-pushing sound that merges electronic, industrial, pop, and avant-garde styles, Arca explores themes of identity, posthumanism, and transformation. After gaining early attention with EPs on #UNO NYC#, she rose to prominence through production work for artists like *Kanye West*, *FKA twigs*, and most notably *Bj枚rk*, co-producing much of the 'Vulnicura' and 'Utopia' albums. Her solo work, including albums like 'Xen', 'Arca', and the ambitious five-part 'Kick' series for #XL Recordings# and #Mute#, showcases her sonic volatility and embrace of fluidity in genre and gender expression.
