Biography
Cities Aviv is the project of Memphis rapper and producer Gavin Mays, who fronted the hardcore band Copwatch before turning to hip-hop. His mixtapes 'Digital Lows' (2011) and 'Black Pleasure' (2012) mixed hazy samples and confrontational delivery to wide underground attention, and albums including 'Come to Life' (2014) and 'Man Plays the Horn' (2022) keep him a restless, self-reinventing presence in Memphis's experimental rap underground.
