Deux Filles

Biography

Deux Filles was the fictional French duo invented by British musicians Simon Fisher Turner and Colin Lloyd Tucker. Posing as Claudine Coule and Gemini Forque, they released two largely instrumental ambient albums, 'Silence & Wisdom' (1982) and 'Double Happiness' (1983), on #Papier Maché#. The invented tragic backstory, the drag sleeve photographs and the placid, wistful music made the project a cult item, and reissues have established it as a small landmark of early British ambient and DIY recording.
