Biography
Kings of Convenience are a Norwegian indie folk duo from Bergen, formed in 1999 by Erlend 脴ye and Eirik Glambek B酶e, school friends who had played together in *Skog*. Built on two acoustic guitars, close harmony vocals and intricate fingerpicking, their debut 'Quiet Is the New Loud' (2001) on #Astralwerks# lent its name to a wave of understated acoustic pop. Further albums are 'Riot on an Empty Street' (2004), featuring guest vocals by *Feist*, 'Declaration of Dependence' (2009) and 'Peace or Love' (2021), released after a long gap in recording.
