Biography
KISS was an American hard rock band formed in New York City in January 1973 by Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss and Ace Frehley. Known for face paint, comic-book personas and spectacular stage effects, the band broke through with 'Alive!' and dominated late 1970s rock with 'Destroyer' and 'Love Gun'. After an unmasked 1980s revival and a 1996 original-lineup reunion, KISS ended its touring career at Madison Square Garden in December 2023, having sold more than 100 million records worldwide.
