Biography
KMRU, born Joseph Kamaru in Nairobi, Kenya, is a Berlin-based sound artist and producer, and the grandson of benga legend Joseph Kamaru. Working from field recordings, synthesis and drone, he broke through with the 2020 albums 'Peel' on #Editions Mego#, 'Jar' and 'Opaquer', following them with 'Logue' and 'Dissolution Grip'. He relocated to Berlin in 2020 for a master's degree in Sound Studies and Sonic Arts.
