Biography
American singer-songwriter from Needham, Massachusetts, a leading figure in dream folk whose reverb-washed mezzo-soprano and fingerpicked guitar carry songs of love, death and haunting. Since 'Ballads of Living and Dying' (2004) she has released a steady body of work on labels including #Sacred Bones Records# and #Bella Union#, among it 'July' (2014), 'Strangers' (2016) and 'New Radiations' (2025). Her songs return obsessively to lost love, old houses and Southern-gothic landscapes.
