A pivotal figure in jazz fusion and funk, Michael Henderson was a prodigious bassist and soulful vocalist. As a teenager in Detroit, he became a sought-after session player before touring with *Stevie Wonder*. His career was famously redirected in 1970 when *Miles Davis* recruited him, making Henderson the anchor of his electric bands for seven years. His heavy, hypnotic funk bass lines defined influential albums like 'On the Corner' and 'Agharta'.
