Biography

Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970 by Freddie Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor, with bassist John Deacon completing the classic lineup in February 1971. Their second album 'Queen II' and 'Sheer Heart Attack', both released in 1974, brought UK success, and 'A Night at the Opera' in 1975 made them international stars, led by the single 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. Albums such as 'News of the World', 'The Game' and 'A Kind of Magic' kept them among the world's biggest live acts through the 1980s. Mercury died in November 1991, shortly after the release of 'Innuendo', and Deacon retired in 1997. May and Taylor have continued as Queen with other singers, touring with *Paul Rodgers* from 2004 to 2009 and with *Adam Lambert* since 2011.
