Biography
Roy Harper is an English folk and rock singer-songwriter known for his distinctive fingerstyle guitar playing, complex compositions, and intensely poetic lyrics. Since the mid-1960s, he has been a revered, if uncommercial, figure in British music. His influence is widely acknowledged by peers like *Jimmy Page* and *Robert Plant* of *Led Zeppelin*, who titled a song 'Hats Off to (Roy) Harper' in his honor, and *Pink Floyd*, who featured him on lead vocals for their classic track "Have a Cigar". His seminal 1971 album, 'Stormcock', is often cited as a masterpiece of progressive folk.
