Biography
Sadness is the prolific solo project of Mexican-American musician Damián Antón-Ojeda, formed in 2014 in Oak Park, Illinois. Initially rooted in depressive black metal with the debut album 'Close', the project evolved into a pioneering force in the blackgaze and shoegaze scenes. Known for a vast and emotionally resonant discography, Sadness blends harsh, atmospheric black metal with lush, dream-like soundscapes. Key albums like 'I Want to Be There' and 'Atna' have garnered a significant cult following, praised for their raw yet richly textured compositions. Ojeda, who handles all instruments and vocals, often self-releases music or works with labels like #Flowing Downward#.
