Biography
Swedish progressive metal band formed in 2010 by ex-*Opeth* drummer Martín López and singer Joel Ekelöf. Albums from 'Cognitive' (2012) through 'Tellurian' (2014), 'Lykaia' (2017), 'Lotus' (2019), 'Imperial' (2021) and 'Memorial' (2023) combine technical heaviness with melodic, emotional songwriting and direct political lyricism. A seventh album, 'Reliance', arrived in 2026. Soen are regarded as one of modern progressive metal's most consistent bands, live and on record.
