Biography
The Lounge Lizards were a New York band formed in 1978 by brothers John and Evan Lurie. Starting as a No Wave 'fake jazz' act, they grew into a showcase for John Lurie's compositions, recording 'The Lounge Lizards' (1981) for #EG Records#, then 'No Pain for Cakes' (1987) and 'Voice of Chunk' (1988) with Roy Nathanson, Curtis Fowlkes, Marc Ribot and Erik Sanko. A last studio album, 'Queen of All Ears', followed in 1998; the band has been inactive since about 2000.
