Biography
Arto Lindsay is an American guitarist, singer, and producer known for his pivotal role in the No Wave scene and his subsequent explorations of Brazilian music. He first gained notoriety with the band DNA, developing a unique, self-taught, and aggressively atonal guitar style. After DNA, he formed *Ambitious Lovers* with *Peter Scherer*, blending pop sensibilities with his experimental roots. Raised in Brazil, his solo career, beginning with albums like 'O Corpo Sutil' and 'Mundo Civilizado' on labels such as #Bar/None#, saw him fuse bossa nova and Tropic谩lia with avant-garde textures and a gentle vocal delivery, creating a sound that is both seductive and challenging.
