Biography

The Wailers were the Jamaican group that carried reggae to the world. Formed in Kingston in 1963 by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, they began as a ska vocal group at #Studio One# before defining roots reggae on 'Catch a Fire' and 'Burnin''. After Tosh and Wailer left in 1974, Marley led the band through 'Natty Dread', 'Exodus' and 'Uprising', backed by the Barrett brothers' rhythm section, until his death in 1981.
