Biography
The Wolfgang Press are a London post-punk band formed in 1983 by Michael Allen, Mark Cox and Andrew Gray, veterans of the early #4AD# scene. Signed to #4AD#, they moved from the abrasive 'The Burden of Mules' through the dub and soul inflected 'Bird Wood Cage' to the sample driven 'Queer' (1991) and its hit 'A Girl Like You'. After splitting in the mid 1990s, Allen and Gray reformed the band in 2024 with Stephen Gray, releasing 'A 2nd Shape'.
