To Be Gentle

Biography

To Be Gentle is an American screamo and post-hardcore project, first based in California and later in Portland, Oregon. Its 2019 debut album, 'To Be Gentle', balanced chaotic, cathartic screaming with ambient post-rock passages in songs about connection, healing, heartbreak and veganism. Later releases pushed further into experimental, ambient and noise territory while retaining an intensely personal, confessional core and a striking emotional directness throughout.
