Biography
Urfaust were an atmospheric black metal duo from Asten in the Netherlands, active from 2003 to 2023. Singer and guitarist IX founded the project and drummer VRDRBR completed the lineup that made all seven studio albums, from 'Geist ist Teufel' (2004) to the farewell album 'Untergang' (2023), mostly for #Ván Records#. Their music pairs raw black metal with clean chanting, doom tempos and dark ambient interludes. The duo announced the end of Urfaust in August 2023.
