The Pious Bird of Good Omen

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as the band's first UK compilation, this release highlights the immense talent of their original lineup firmly entrenched in the British blues boom. The collection centers around Peter Green's stunning, fiercely emotive guitar playing and songwriting, notably featuring the massive instrumental hit 'Albatross' and his blistering interpretations of Chicago blues standards. It is an essential summary of their powerful, purist era before the band's dramatic shift toward pop-rock.
