Serving as the inaugural entry in their ongoing rarities series, 'Switched On' compiles Stereolab's first batch of extremely limited mail-order singles and initial EPs. The collection operates largely as their de-facto debut album, introducing their unique collision of fuzzy, Velvet Underground-inspired guitar noise and vintage Moog synthesizer melodies. It captures the raw, formative energy of a band preparing to lead the 1990s post-rock vanguard.
