Album Notes & Community Reviews

Chronologically surveying the monumental first decade of the Irish quartet's career, this compilation highlights U2's transition from earnest post-punk outsiders to stadium-dominating rock saviors. Anchored heavily by the politically charged, arena-ready anthems of 'The Joshua Tree', the sequence showcases The Edge's delay-drenched guitar textures and Bono's soaring, spiritual vocal performances. It successfully encapsulated their initial era just as the band was actively deconstructing their image in the late 1990s.
