Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites

Album Notes & Community Reviews

This massively polarizing release aggressively catapulted North American dubstep into the global mainstream consciousness, completely redefining the aesthetics of modern dance music. The former post-hardcore vocalist introduced punishing, metallic mid-range bass drops and hyper-edited vocal chops, creating an explosive sound that dominated music festivals for the next decade. Despite generating immense critical division, it won two Grammy Awards and remains one of the most culturally inescapable electronic records of its era.
