Album Notes & Community Reviews

A wildly ambitious, completely unprecedented event recorded at the Royal Albert Hall, pitting a newly aggressive hard rock group against the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Composed by keyboardist Jon Lord, the complex, three-movement piece stands as a seminal, if polarizing, foundational moment in the development of symphonic progressive rock.
