Album Notes & Community Reviews

Drenched in a swampy, nocturnal atmosphere, 'Your Funeral ... My Trial' is a remarkably dense and depressive exploration of southern gothic narratives. Nick Cave's theatrical, ominous baritone navigates deeply personal themes of addiction and doomed romance over a backdrop of eerie organs and jagged punk-blues guitars. It is an anxious, mysterious peak of the Bad Seeds' early post-punk output.
