Steering even further away from their raw punk origins, the Ramones embraced incredibly slick, 1960s-inspired pop-rock production under the guidance of Graham Gouldman. 'Pleasant Dreams' relies heavily on highly melodic power pop structures and catchy, energetic hooks, offering a deeply playful, romantic, and slightly humorous departure from their early grit.
