Joey Ramone

Biography

As the iconic frontman for the Ramones, Joey Ramone became the unforgettable voice and soul of punk rock. Born Jeffry Ross Hyman, his towering stature, signature sunglasses, and leather jacket defined a countercultural aesthetic, while his distinctive, melodic vocals set the Ramones apart from their more aggressive peers. He was a co-founder and the only other member, besides guitarist *Johnny Ramone*, to remain for the band's entire 22-year run. Though the Ramones disbanded in 1996, Joey's influence endured. He embarked on a solo career, which culminated in the posthumous release of his acclaimed album 'Don't Worry About Me' on #Sanctuary Records#, cementing his legacy as a punk pioneer.
