Biography
Arthur Lyman (1932–2002) was a Hawaiian vibraphonist and marimba player known as a king of exotica and lounge music. After playing in *Martin Denny*'s group, where his bird calls and four-mallet vibes shaped the genre's signature sound, he led his own group to success with 'Taboo' in 1958 and the 1961 hit 'Yellow Bird', performing in Waikiki into the late 1990s.
