Colin Stetson

Biography

Canadian-American saxophonist based in Montreal whose solo work uses circular breathing and extended techniques to make one horn sound like an ensemble. His 'New History Warfare' trilogy appeared on #Constellation Records#, and he has played with *Arcade Fire* and *Bon Iver* while leading *Ex Eye*. His playing layers ostinatos, sung lines through the horn and percussive key clicks into structures that unfold like electronic music performed acoustically, and he has become a sought-after film and television composer, notably scoring 'Hereditary' (2018).
