Biography
Deee-Lite were an American dance group formed in New York City in 1986 by singer Lady Miss Kier and DJ Dmitry Brill, with DJ Towa Tei joining in 1988. Their debut 'World Clique' (1990), released on #Elektra Records#, mixed house, funk and hip hop and produced the enduring hit 'Groove Is in the Heart'. After the political turn of 'Infinity Within' (1992) and Towa Tei's departure, the duo version made 'Dewdrops in the Garden' (1994). Colourful, inclusive and proudly retro, Deee-Lite remain emblematic of New York club culture at the turn of the 1990s.
