Biography
Gorgoroth are a Norwegian black metal band founded in Bergen in 1992 by guitarist Infernus, taking their name from the dead plateau in Tolkien's Mordor. Early albums 'Pentagram' and 'Antichrist' helped define the second wave of black metal, and the band later reached a wider audience with vocalist Gaahl on 'Incipit Satan' and 'Twilight of the Idols'. A bitter dispute over the band's name ended in court in 2009, with Infernus retaining the name; the re-formed line-up has since released 'Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt' and 'Instinctus Bestialis' on #Soulseller Records#.
